Service:  Volunteers read newspapers on the air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.   Also have live programs such as USA Today.
Application required. 
Criteria:   Must be legally blind in one eye or be unable to hold a newspaper.

Division of Blind Services

Impairments in both eyes.  State funded and no cost.  Maintain independence, mobility training or in-home training.  If school age, school classes may be provided.

Tax Relief

Tax deductions on property tax and income tax are available to persons designated legally blind.   Your eye doctor can supply you with proper documentation of legal blindness.

Several services available such as transportation to grocery shopping and doctors appointments, light housekeeping, exercise program for the elderly, letter writing.  No charge but donations are accepted.  There is a waiting list and an application must be done.  All of their volunteers have a background check done on them.
